Documents: Girl Forced Into Vehicle, Raped, Left Naked in South Abilene

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Detectives have filed a search warrant for DNA evidence after a victim came forward with allegations that she was forced into a vehicle and raped last year in south Abilene.

Court documents say this victim, who was under the age of seventeen, came forward in February of 2016 and told police she was on the 4600 block of South 14th Street when two unknown suspects sexually assaulted her after making her get into their vehicle by brandishing a "rifle-like firearm".

She claimed both suspects sexually assaulted her multiple times before taking her cell phone and clothing then leaving her "naked with no way to call for help," according to the documents, which say a passerby found her walking naked and called police.

DNA evidence was recovered from her body during a SANE exam conducted the same day the sexual assaults occurred, and the documents state in November of 2016, Abilene Police received notification that the DNA evidence matched a DNA sample for a suspect in the TDPS CODIS system.

In February of 2017, police filed a search warrant for this suspect's DNA to confirm the match.

BigCountryHomepage is withholding his identity until he is formally charged with a crime in connection to these allegations.

Police are investigating this incident as Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.

The second suspect has not been identified.
