DPS: Cow causes fiery crash that killed Winters woman

WINTERS, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A Winters woman was killed in a fiery crash investigators believe was caused by a cow in Runnels County Thursday night. 

Doris Jean Morrison, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on U.S. 83 just north of Winters around 11:25 p.m, according to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety. No other injuries were reported in connection to this crime. 

The press release states Morrison was traveling south down the highway when an 18-wheeler towing a trailer traveling north struck a cow in the roadway, lost control, then veered into Morrison's car. Both vehicles caught fire upon impact.
