Dyess Air Force Base Commander tours KTAB studios

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB) - The commander of the 7th bomb wing at Dyess Air Force Base, Colonel Brandon Parker, toured the KTAB studios today part of learning more about his new home Dyess and Abilene.

When Colonel Brandon Parker got his assignment to move tot Abilene he said he's already heard good things.

"We heard so much about the base, so much about the community and what we do here," Parker said.

And three months later Parker said he's happy to be here.

"We feel really blessed to be here and just fortunate to work with such an outstanding team and that's the team that we have on base and also in the community," Parker said.

Although Parker believes the base is fulfilling its mission he said he wants to make it just a little better.

Something that could do that is the B-21 bomber and according to Gray Bridwell, who's with the Military Affairs Committee, Abilene is after the B-21 bomber.

Although there's no confirmation about the B-21 bomber, Parker said the future at Dyess looks bright.

"I have every reason to believe that into the future you know that everything that I'm seeing and everything that I'm hearing either from our military leaders from our political leaders is that Dyess will continue to play an integral part of what our Air Force does for decades to come," Parker said.

And parker is looking forward to the future and that one of the strengths at Dyess is its rich history.
