ECISD: Teacher showed up to school intoxicated

ODESSA, Texas (Local 2/Fox 24) - One Permian High School teacher was arrested on Friday after he reportedly arrived at the school intoxicated.

Officials with ECISD say the teacher, who was not identified, arrived at Permian Friday morning.

A colleague then smelled alcohol on him and reported it to campus police, according to a release.

The teacher was later arrested and charged with public intoxication, a class-C-misdemeanor.

ECISD officials say the teacher has been employed with the district since July and has been put on paid administrative leave.
