OSCEOLA, Texas (KWKT/KYLE) - A 94-year-old Hill County man is dead and his house destroyed in a Wednesday morning explosion in northern Hill County.
There was no fire following the explosion that occurred at 4:39 a.m.
The home was located near the Osceola community on FM 934 near Highway 171
Neighbors living about 300 yards away called the Hill County Sheriff's Office saying they heard the explosion and said it felt like the ground shook.
The elderly man lived alone at the location and is believed to have been the only victim.
His name was not being released Wednesday morning.
Fire units from Itasca and Covington responded to the site.
The explosion is being investigated by the Hill County Sheriff's office assisted by the Hillsboro fire marshal.
