"Exchange Zone" Available in Brown Co. For Safe Transactions

BROWN COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Brown County law enforcement officials have created a safe way for citizens to buy and sell merchandise they find online.

A new "Exchange Zone" is now available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week in the public parking lot and front lobby of the Brown County Law Enforcement Center.

Authorities say the goal of this "Exchange Zone" is to "help reduce victimization and prevent illegal transactions".

Citizens just need to notify "notify the on-duty personnel at the Law Enforcement Center of your presence and your intention to engage in an exchange before your transaction. An appointment is not required," according to a press release.

The press release also says the "Exchange Zone" areas are typically under video surveillance.

The Brown County Law Enforcement Center is located at 1050 W. Commerce Street in Brownwood.

Call Chief Terry Nichols or Sheriff Vance Hill at (325)646-2525 for more information.
