ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Several officers wearing body armor and armed with assault rifles surrounded a south Abilene home Friday morning after receiving a false report of a shooting.
Police at the scene of the incident on the 300 block of Hawthorne Street told KTAB and KRBC someone reported a person was shot inside the home just before 3:30 p.m.
Abilene police officers suited up in body armor and grabbed their assault rifles as a precaution then surrounded the home.
Before forcing their way inside, officers knocked on the door, and the woman who answered said she had no idea what was going on and claimed she was the only one home.
