Family of missing Abilene man pleas for information 10 days after disappearance

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - The family of an Abilene man who disappeared without a trace over 10 days ago is asking anyone with information to please come forward.

Eric Vincent Torrez, 41, has not been seen or heard from since he traveled to Tom Green County after receiving a text message about a possible job in the area on Friday, July 21, 2017, and authorities are now considering him the victim of a homicide.

Just days after Torrez's disappearance, an evidentiary search warrant was served at the home of his ex-wife, Kristen Anne Jennings, on Duckworth Road in northern Tom Green County. She, along with her current husband, Stephen Jennings, and his father, Gary Jennings, were taken into custody.

Kristen Jennings is now being held in the Taylor County Jail on a $50,000 bond for Burglary with Intent to Commit Another Felony - a charged issued after she allegedly busted into an Abilene home the day Torrez went missing, assaulted his mother, then forcibly took a 4-year-old child belonging to her and Torrez.

Stephen and Gary Jennings were arrested for Tampering with Evidence. No information surrounding their charges has been released.

Torrez's truck was recovered from the parking lot of a Ballinger Walmart two days after the Jennings' property was searched, but there is still no sign of Torrez.

Torrez family is now asking anyone who has information on Torrez's disappearance to please come forward and help bring this beloved father, brother, and more home where he belongs.

His sister, Victoria De Lorea, released the following statement on social media Monday evening:

Anyone with information on Torrez's disappearance is asked to contact investigators at (325)655-8111. The Texas Rangers are now assisting in the investigation.
