Father, Son Pulled from Texas Lake Identified

LAKE TAWAKONI, Texas (KETK) - The Texas Game Warden has identified the father-son duo whose bodies were pulled from Lake Tawakoni Monday and Tuesday,

According to officials they are 25-year-old Corey Saunders and 5-year-old Nathan Saunders, of Quinlan.

According to the Hunt County Sheriff's Office, the body was of a five-year-old boy was recovered from the lake around 11:30 p.m., Monday, after he and his father went missing. The search was suspended shortly after, but picked back up Tuesday morning around 7:30 a.m. The father's body was found Tuesday morning.

The child, his father and the family dog named "Hunt," reportedly took a boat from Caddo Landing to the area of Farm-to-Market Road 2101 around 5:00 a.m. The last time there was any contact with the hunters is unknown.

The dog showed up on shore before a search and rescue team was sent out.

The boy's mother became concerned when the trio didn't return from their duck hunting trip.

Officials also recovered the boat which the boy, his father and dog were on.
