Arson possible cause of north Abilene mobile home fire

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A mobile home fire in north Abilene is being investigated as a possible arson case.

The home caught fire on the 3700 block of Trailend Drive just before 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

A press release from the Abilene Fire Department states firefighters arrived on scene and found a fire on the back steps of the home. The flames were quickly brought under control and an estimated $1500 worth of damage was sustained to the back steps, back door, and siding of the home.

Initial reports indicate no one was home when the fire began, but residents were evacuated from the home next door.

The fire investigator determined arson was the possible cause and two subjects were detained but have since been released. The Abilene Police Department is assisting with the arson investigation.
