Fire near Baird is now 100 percent contained

BAIRD, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - UPDATE: According to the Texas A&M Forest Service, the fire in Callahan County near Baird is now 100 percent contained.

The Texas A&M Forest Service has reported that after a roughly 2 hour battle, the fire north of I-20 near Baird is 100 percent contained at 25 acres.

Rainfall reported at the scene aided firefighters in containing the fire.

BAIRD, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A fire north of I-20 near Baird brings out two local fire departments and the Texas A&M Forest Service.

According to the Callahan County Sheriff's Office dispatch, the Baird Fire Department and the Clyde Volunteer Fire Department are battling a  fire north of I-20, near mile marker 306/307.

The Texas A&M Forest Service was also called in to assist with bulldozers.

There is no word yet on the level of containment for the fire.
