Former Air Force leader indicted in Abilene for multiple child sex crimes

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A former Air Force sergeant has been indicted for multiple child sex crimes in Abilene.

Julian Cervantes III, 47, was re-arrested Tuesday on sealed indictment warrants for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child, Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, and two counts of Indecency with a Child.

He was initially charged with Sexual Assault of a Child in 2015, but it appears the Taylor County District Attorney's Office intends to prosecute on the latest set of charges instead.

Court documents reveal all charges are connected a young girl under the age of 14 who alleges she was sexually assaulted by Cervantes multiple times in the year 2012 and again in 2014.

Cervantes was released from the Taylor County Jail by posting bonds totaling $120,000 after his arrest Tuesday.
