Former New Mexico Coach Indicted for Allegedly Taking Student to Get Nipples Pierced

LAS CRUCES, NM (KTSM) - A former Las Cruces soccer coach was indicted on Thursday on charges of delinquency of a minor, after he was accused of taking a 16-year-old girl to get her nipples pierced in January.

Victor Gutierrez, a former Mayfield High soccer coach,  was indicted after allegations surfaced earlier this year that Gutierrez picked up the 16-year-old girl from a different high school and took her to a tattoo shop in Las Cruces.

As we've previously reported, police say Gutierrez met the girl through coaching a club soccer team and the two would talk on a regular basis on social media. After he allegedly took her to the tattoo shop to get her nipples pierced, he then took her to a Peter Piper Pizza for lunch.

Police also accuse Gutierrez of paying for and taking pictures of the girl's piercings.

Under New Mexico law, a parent or legal guardian must be present for a minor to get a tattoo or piercing. Gutierrez is accused of "facilitating the acts to enable the 16-year-old to be pierced without her parents' consent of knowledge."

Las Cruces Police told NewsChannel 9 at the time of Gutierrez's arrest in March that they believed he may have taken other underage girls to get their body parts pierced. If you have any additional information in the case, you're asked to call police at (575) 526-0795.
