Girl scout cookie fugitive arrested in Abilene

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A wanted fugitive accused of stealing over $25,000 from girl scouts in West Texas was captured in Abilene Thursday morning.

Heather Renee Haskins, 23, wanted for stealing $25,210 from the Girl Scouts of the Desert - Southwest, was taken into custody by the Abilene Police Department and charged with Theft one day after the Odessa Police Department announced she could be selling cookies in Abilene. 

KMID reports the money was reported stolen from the Girl Scouts of the Desert - Southwest on June 23, 2017.

A crime blotter released to KMID states the theft was of  "currency that should have been turned in to Product Sales Director."
