Harris County Mother Charged With Capital Murder in 4-Year-Old Daughter's Stabbing Death

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - According to CBS-station KHOU in Houston, Texas, a western Harris County mother has been charged with Capital Murder in the stabbing death of her 4-year-old daughter.

Prosecutors allege that 34-year-old Laquita Lewis stabbed her daughter, Fredricka Allen, multiple times in the chest and left her on the floor of the home's master bedroom.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, investigators found the girl dead in the home just before 9 p.m.

Earlier in the day, Lewis got into a fight with her boyfriend. Then, around 6 p.m., Lewis was involved in a car accident and taken to the hospital.

While in the hospital, KHOU reports that Lewis began texting family members saying she had hurt her daughter. Family members reported that the messages prompted them to call 911. The family members urged deputies to check on the girl, which resulted in deputies discovering the body of the child.

Laquita Lewis is now in custody and has been charged with Capital Murder.
