HEART TO HEART: 15-year-old Adriana

ABILENE, Texas (KRBC) - Right now, Region II is struggling to find enough foster and adoptive homes.

We are introducing you to a teenager named Adriana who is looking for a home.

"I like people that are different and unique and do things that inspire others," 15-year-old Adriana said.

Adriana has been through a lot of home placements, struggling to find a family to call her own.

"Someone that could inspire others and bring others out of their shell," she said.

Adriana is a normal teenager, except for the fact she actually likes school!

"I like to school stuff. I'm always doing school work, so I guess school," she said.

Her favorite subject is history.

"It shows what we go through on a daily basis and it's shows if we're going to repeat or not repeat," she said.

She is also very involved in her school too.

"I'm in yearbook so I take pictures a lot. I'm in theater," Adriana said.

However, after school, Adriana needs a family to come home to.

"Adriana is a really sweet teenager. She wants a family that's going to recognize her heart. She has a big heart," Region II Adoption Supervisor Amy Elizondo said.

Elizondo said she needs someone who is in it for the long haul because she has been through a lot.

"She really needs a family that's going to show her that they are committed to loving her; ups and downs. Highs and lows. Just like you would with any child. Even with your own biological children, you have good and bad," Elizondo said.

If you would like to know the adoption process for Adriana, you can call Abilene CPS at  (325) 691-8100.
