HEART TO HEART: Braydon

-

ABILENE, Texas (KRBC) - Region II has been struggling to find enough foster homes and enough adoptive homes and are trying to reach out into the community.

Many kids in the system have never left.

Tonight, we are reintroducing you to a familiar face.

"His name is Deadpool. You can zip up his mouth and you can unzip his mouth," Braydon said.

Braydon is no stranger to KRBC. We introduced this energetic boy in July.

"He's red like Deadpool and most of his body's read like Deadpool," Braydon said.

Braydon just turned eleven in September. his birthday wish was to be with a loving family, but it did not come true.

"I would like them to have kids. I don't want to be alone with just a mom and a dad," Braydon said.
He loves the outdoors and just wants a family to share that with.

"Play video games, play on my XBOX, go out shopping, go out playing, go out doing nerf gun wars," Braydon said. "I want them to be rich, fun. I want them to make me a hunting license.

CPS adoption supervisor, Amy Elizondo said Braydon is always full of life, no matter where life takes him.

"Braydon, also has a sister that was in foster care. Unfortunately, they couldn't be adopted together either, so maintaining that relationship is going to be important for him," Elizondo said.

She said it is important for people to remember to be patient with kids coming out of the system.
"We need families who are just open and understand that these child are not perfect and no child is. So, you have to recognize that. You're going to have good days and bad days. Let's celebrate the good days and let's just work a little bit harder on the bad days and just get through it and make sure that love is keeping you guys together," Elizondo said.

If you would like to know the adoption process for Braydon, you can call Abilene CPS at  (325) 691-8100.
