For the Robillards, it all started due to an issue.
"I couldn't have biological kids so this was a way for us to be a family," said Melissa Robillard.
Melissa wanted to be a mother and harmony family services was her answer.
"We decided to do the foster care process, that way we could see if it's what we wanted and if it would mesh," said Melissa Robillard.
And mesh they did. The Robillards adopted 4 of their foster children and have housed around 30 since 2005.
"It's a tough experience but you have to realize you're giving children a chance, you're giving them a second chance at something they may not have been able to get with their biological family," said Melissa Robillard.
A second chance is what she gave her adopted son Chris.
"I got to experience stuff i wouldn't have been able to, so like I said it was an exhilarating adventure," said Chris Robillard.
Now Chris has a family of his own
"To be loved and to be wanted and now to show my love and affection to a person that needs me and needs the support and so yeah, it's amazing," said Chris Robillard.
And Melissa has grand kids.
"It's extremely rewarding. If it wasn't for harmony family services or the CPS office I wouldn't have four children," said Melissa Robillard.
