HGTV's 'Fixer Upper' ending after Season 5

WACO, Texas (KWKT/KYLE) - In a video posted on the website for Magnolia Market Tuesday, Chip and Joanna Gaines announced that Season 5 of Fixer Upper will be its last.

The HGTV show has catapulted the Gaines family and their Magnolia brand while chronicling their home renovation adventures.

"It has been a bittersweet time for us, because for the last five years this has been our life," Joanna Gaines said.

The fifth season will begin in November and conclude in the spring of 2018.

The Gaines say this announcement has nothing to do with what they call a fraudulent skincare line or anything else posted online.

The couple says they need to catch their breath for a moment.

They say there are several other projects in the works, including turning the Elite Cafe into The Magnolia Table.

They also expressed their gratitude to HGTV and the production company that puts 'Fixer Upper' together.
