Indicted: Abilene Man Accused of Impregnating Teen Half His Age

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - An Abilene man accused of impregnating a teen half his age has been indicted.

During their meeting Thursday, a Taylor County Grand Jury indicted Daniel Esparza, 27, on one count Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. He was arrested in March, and online jail records show he's being held on a $100,000 bond.

Court documents claim Esparza became involved in a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl in April of 2016, and during that relationship, the teen was impregnated.

The teen gave birth to the child in March of 2017. Detectives obtained DNA samples from the baby and Esparza following the birth, according to court documents, which say test results indicated there is a 99.9999% probability that Esparza is the father of the baby.
