Indicted: Suspect accused of injuring elderly employee during Abilene robbery

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - An Abilene man accused of injuring an elderly employee during a robbery at United Supermarkets has been indicted.

Charles Brewer, 29, was indicted on an Aggravated Robbery charge in connection to the incident that happened in March of 2017.

Court documents state Brewer entered a 72-year-old employee's check out line to purchase an item, and when she opened the drawer to give him change, he went around the counter and assaulted her, knocking her to the ground. 

This employee later learned Brewer had taken just under $375 from the register during the incident, according to the documents. 

Brewer was arrested following the robbery and is currently being held in the Taylor County Jail on bonds totaling over $150,000.
