Indicted: Victim robbed in Abilene while selling shoes on Facebook

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - An Abilene man accused of using a gun to rob a victim who was selling shoes on Facebook has been indicted.

A Taylor County Grand Jury indicted Jalen Morgan, 17, for an Aggravated Robbery charge on Thursday in connection to the incident that happened in November of 2016.

Court documents state Morgan contacted the victim and made arrangements to meet him to purchase shoes that were being sold on Facebook Marketplace.

When Morgan and the victim arrived at the pre-determined location, the victim pulled out the shoes and Morgan pulled out a gun and took the shoes, according to the documents.

Morgan was later identified though his phone number and when he was contacted by detectives, the documents state he had pictures of the stolen shoes on his phone as well as messages talking about "doing a robbery" with a friend.

Morgan was released from jail the same day he was arrested after posting a $20,000 bond.
