Man Holding Large Knife Arrested Outside Abilene Neighborhood Walmart

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A 60-year-old suspect was arrested outside of an Abilene Walmart for brandishing a large knife early Tuesday morning.

Employees and customers contacted the Abilene Police Department after observing the suspect identified as William Freeman strolling the parking lot of the Neighborhood Walmart in the 1600 block of Ambler Avenue holding a large knife just before 12:30 a.m., according to a police report.

The report says employees and customers were in fear for their safety, saying Freeman's actions incited an "immediate breach of peace".

Officers contacted Freeman and ordered him to drop the knife and then detained him.  Freeman was later arrested and booked into the Taylor County Jail for Disorderly Conduct.

He's being held on a $350 bond.
