McMurry University to host Military Appreciation Day on September 30

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – McMurry University will be honoring all the military members in the Abilene community at their football game on September 30.

Active duty and retired military and their dependents will be honored guests at McMurry University’s football game against Texas Lutheran University at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 30, at Wilford Moore Stadium. All military members and their dependents will be admitted free with military ID as part of McMurry’s Military Appreciation Day.

At halftime, Col. Brandon Parker, Dyess 7th Bomb Wing Commander, will administer the oath of enlistment for new recruits representing the Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force and National Guard.

Also, Pioneer Food Services, McMurry’s food service provider, will provide free meals in the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Dining Hall from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the game for all military and dependents presenting a military ID.

Parking lots are located along the west and southern perimeters of the campus. Home side seating is available on the west side of Wilford Moore Stadium.
