Missing Texas teen could be in 'grave danger' after meeting older 'predator' online

ORANGE COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A Texas teen who disappeared Sunday may be in "grave danger" after meeting an older "predator" online.

Heaven Ray Cox, 15, was last seen at her home in Mauriceville, Texas, Saturday night, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Mother Tammy Cox told the Sheriff's Office she found a goodbye note in Heaven's room when she went to check on her the next day.

A post on Tammy's Facebook page alleges her daughter may have been talking to a man from California via Snapchat, and that "the man she has been talking to is a predator, who has apparently been manipulating her for some time."

The Orange County Sheriff's Office is still vetting these claims. Their detectives are "working diligently to verify and confirm this information," according to a press release.

Heaven is described as having brown eyes and blond hair cut past her shoulders. She's 5'3" tall and weighs around 113 pounds.

A missing person's report says she may have a diamond stud piercing on the right side of her nose and could be wearing "large, round dark colored glasses".

Anyone with information on Heaven's whereabouts is asked to contact the Orange County Sheriff's Office at (409)383-2612 or Orange County CrimeStoppers at (409)833-8477. Anonymous tips can also be left at 833Tips.com
