ABILENE, Texas (KRBC)- When it comes picking a place to grab a bite, the City of Abilene has every taste bud covered!
From Chipotle to Raising Canes, at least 8 new restaurants in the Big Country will open their doors to the public within the next few months.
Luigi's Burgers and Subs located off of South14th in Frenchmen's Creek Shopping Center, is just one new place to "dig-in" to a half pound burger that held their grand opening less then two weeks ago.
" We do half-pound patties ourselves as well as our buns and homemade pickles, they are all delicious!" Said Luigi Tetaj, the owner of Luigi's Burgers and Subs.
They also hand cut all of their fries and bake fresh buns each morning.
"My mother used to be a baker for 45 years, so I've learned something from her", continued Tetaj.
They have already had loyal customers come back to try even more on the menu.
"I had the Philly cheese steak last time and this time I got the burger", said Casey McDermott.
If you are craving something a little spicier, Sam's Southern Eatery has you covered!
Located off of North 1st, the new "Cajun-styled" restaurant has been said to have the "best seafood in town", according to a few customers who have been multiple times within this week.
"You know, I've had a little bit of everything and it's all good!" Said Royce Clark.
Clark told KRBC that he has been there four times within the last week, and he has tried the shrimp, and said they are huge.
"I've used to live in Louisiana for a short period of time, so the food is kind of like a Cajun style so I love it!" Continued Clark.
Other restaurants soon to open include Chipotle which is located off of 3800 Clack Street, Raising Canes off of 1602 East Overland Trail, and Golden Chopsticks on 4300 block of Sayles.
More local restaurants are also going to be opening up their doors like Potter's Pizza, a family owned pizza-joint right off of Buffalo Gap on the 3802 Block and Nicky G's Cuisine off of 4021 South 7th.
