New Winery in Coleman Hopes to Bring in Tourists

An unexpected business in an unexpected place.

"We're going to have a winery in Coleman and it was just like what?" said Coleman native SuJo McKee.

Rancho Loma Vineyards opened it's doors to locals to show its fruits of labor after almost three years of coming together.

"This is the time we actually get to share the wines with everybody and that's what's fulfilling, creating experiences for people," said wine maker Kyle Johnston.

"This is something that so many people in the community have been looking forward to a long time ever since the idea got started," said McKee.

The winery is the third business with the Rancho Loma name, following a restaurant and a pizzeria.

"It has just been a huge hit in the community and I think we'll start to get a lot of traffic coming through town  because of this," said McKee.

Traffic that Coleman welcomes in order to share the winery's unique experience.

"They can come here and have excellent food and have excellent wine in a great atmosphere, in a space that's unique," said managing partner Robert Williamson.

"It's not just about popping open a bottle and drinking wine all afternoon, but really to see how it pairs well and enhances food items," said managing partner Ed Brandecker.

Unique because the owners work to create the best wine every step of the way.

"It's literally from vine to bottle," said Johnston.
