NWS Surveying Damage After Brown County Tornado

BROWN COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - The National Weather Service will be surveying storm damage in Brown County following a tornado touchdown Thursday night.

An NWS team will be just outside of May near the area of Cross Cut to determine the impact the storm had on the area.

Trained spotters confirmed a tornado that was about 1/4 of a mile to 1/2 of a mile wide touched down around a mile southeast of May just after 8:00 p.m.

No other tornadic events have been reported in connection to storms that took place on May 18, 2017, but high winds and golf ball to baseball-sized hail caused damage for much of the Big Country.
