Off-road obstacle course and run honors fallen Abilene motorcycle officer

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - The public is invited to participate in an obstacle course and trail run that will benefit a scholarship fund in honor of a fallen Abilene motorcycle officer.

Rodney's Off-Road Challenge will take place at the Abilene Police Training Academy located at 4557 E. Lake Road on September 30, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to noon.

Tickets can be purchased for $40 each at active.com. prior to the event - a 3.6 mile obstacle run with approximately 16 obstacles. 

Proceeds will benefit the Rodney Holder Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Community Foundation of Abilene. 

Rodney Holder was killed in the line of duty while pursuing a traffic violator on April 29, 2010. A blood drive is held in his honor each year.
