Police: Wanted fugitive could be selling girl scout cookies in Abilene

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A wanted fugitive accused of stealing over $25,000 from girl scouts in West Texas could be selling cookies in Abilene, according to police. 

The Odessa Police Department says Heather Renee Haskins, 23, wanted for stealing $25,210 from the Girl Scouts of the Desert - Southwest, "could possibly be selling girl scout cookies in Abilene" and could be driving a maroon Chevrolet SUV with Texas license plate number GKL5486. 

Haskins is described as standing about 5'6" tall and weighing around 185 pounds. 

Anyone who sees Haskins or the SUV is asked to call the Odessa Police Department at (432)335-3333 or Odessa CrimeStoppers at (432)333-8477.

KMID reports the money was reported stolen from the Girl Scouts of the Desert - Southwest on June 23, 2017. 

A crime blotter released to KMID states the theft was of  "currency that should have been turned in to Product Sales Director."

Haskins will be charged with Theft of Property in connection to the theft once captured.
