Registration open for 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer's

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - The Alzheimer's Association North Central Texas Chapter is gearing up for the 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer's.

Five million people are affected by this disease, with more than 350,000 in Texas. Participants in the Walk help those affected by helping raise funds for research, as well as free services and programs.

In 2016, the Abilene Walk raised over $93,000.

Registration is going on now, so visit alz.org/walk to register as a team captain, to join a team, or to sign up as an individual.

The 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer's will be Saturday, September 16. The day will begin with registration at 8 a.m., an opening ceremony at 9 a.m., and the 2-mile walk will begin at 9:30 a.m.
