Report: Burglary Suspects Fire Shots at Abilene Man Who Caught Them in the Act

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Suspects fleeing the scene of a burglary in southeast Abilene fired shots at a resident who caught them in the act.

A report filed with the Abilene Police Department says the man told detectives he was returning to his home on the 3800 block of Trinity Lane just before 3:30 a.m. Monday when he noticed a vehicle in the road with its lights off.

The man then noticed two people run from his neighbors car then jump into the vehicle with no lights, so he began yelling and taking pictures, according to the report, which says the suspects turn the vehicle around and began firing shots as the man began to yell and take pictures. 

The suspects fled the scene, and no arrests have been made. The report says two vehicle at the residence were burglarized, and the suspects got away with a stereo, tools, a drivers licenses, cash, and credit/debit cards.
