Report: Shots fired in north Abilene following Snap Chat fight

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Shots were fired in the parking lot of a north Abilene apartment complex following a fight over something on Snap Chat, according to a police report.

The report states Abilene police began investigating after they were called to a disturbance in progress at the Abilene North Apartments complex on the 3400 block of Vogel Avenue around 6:00 p.m. Friday.

Once on scene, officers learned shots had been fired, and when the victim was located he said that "his cousin got into a dispute with the [suspect's] son over something that was said on Snap Chat," and for some reason this made the suspect upset at the victim, prompting him to tell the victim he "would have a gun the next time he saw him," according to the report.

The victim then told police he saw the suspect's vehicle driving through the apartment complex parking lot Friday evening, so he began to run, and while he was fleeing, the report says he heard at least one gunshot but was not hit.

The report also states the victim "did not actually see who shot the gun and could not see for certain that [suspect] was driving."

No arrests have been made in connection to this incident, but it is being investigated as an Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
