Republican Stan Lambert files for reelection

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC)- Republican Stan Lambert will run for reelection to Texas House District 71.

Rep. Lambert is currently serving his first term in the Texas House of Representatives. He is a native to District 71 which includes Taylor, Jones and Nolan counties. Lambert says, "The Big Country is filled with big ideas and big hearts. I have been honored to represent your interests in the Texas Legislature."

During his first term, Lambert was named to the Energy Resources Committee and the Defense & Veterans'  Affairs Committee. His work at the Texas Capital is focused on "West Texas values and common sense leadership." Two of his proudest moments include the passage of the child safety bills to improve Child Protective Services and giving assistance to retired public school employees by overhauling TRS Care.

Lambert was also involved with passing legislation to protect 2nd Amendment Rights for Texans, a ban for Sanctuary Cities and several pieces of Pro-Life Legislation. He says, "There is more to do, but I believe we are headed in the right direction. I will be a leader who listens and engages in civil discourse to make your voice heard in Austin.” 

Lambert states, "I appreciate so many for encouraging me to seek reelection.  The trust of my neighbors is important to me, and I humbly ask for their vote so I can give voice to their ideas and keep Texas moving forward.” 

The Republican Primary will be help on March 6, 2018.
