Second man arrested in connection to weekend murder

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A second man has now been arrested in connection to the murder of an Abilene teen over the weekend, according to Abilene police.

D'Audre Hight-Ealy, 20, was booked into the Taylor County Jail on Tuesday night on two charges, Murder and Aggravated Robbery.

Police on late Tuesday confirmed to KTAB/KRBC that Hight-Ealy was arrested in connection to the Friday night shooting death of 19-year-old Bronson Boyles.

Hight-Ealy joins 19-year-old D'Jaman Keshod West, also booked on the same two charges of Murder and Aggravated Robbery.

Police have not released information about the Aggravated Robbery charges, but, court documents obtained by KTAB/KRBC detailed the altercation.

According to those documents, witnesses reported they saw West get into an altercation with Boyles at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of South Clack Street. The witnesses, according to the documents, told police they heard a gunshot and when they looked up, they saw West holding a gun over Boyles.

The documents also stated a GPS device issued to West as part of a recent probation order confirmed West was in the area of the apartment complex the same time Boyles was shot.

Four days later, on Tuesday, is when police arrested both West and Hight-Ealy.

On Tuesday morning, there was a large police presence in the 2800-block of South 10th Street. A police spokesperson would only confirm police were there investigation in connection to a murder investigation, not specifying a specific one.

Since Hight-Ealy has now been booked into jail, those jail records indicate Hight-Ealy has a listed address in the 2800-block of South 10th Street.

Both Hight-Ealy and West are both being held on $700,000 bonds.
