Sheriff: Big Country meth dealer now behind bars

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - The woman accused of dealing a large amount of crystal meth across the Big Country is now behind bars, according to the Taylor County Sheriff's Office.

Barbara Horneck, of Abilene, was arrested on Tuesday by the Taylor County Sheriff's Office, the Breckenridge Police Department, the Stephen's County Sheriff's Office and the Shackelford County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities said Horneck was accused of distributing a large amount of crystal methamphetamine within Taylor, Shackelford and Stephen counties.

"Joint efforts between the four departments will help stop the flow of several pounds of methamphetamine a month that the organization was distributing into the big country area," a statement from the Taylor County Sheriff's Office read.

Also arrested at the same time was Roger Norman, of Breckenridge. The Taylor County Sheriff's Office said he had several felony warrants for his arrest.

The arrests were part of an investigation spanning several months.

The Sheriff's Office said several other arrests led to these arrests.

Additional arrests remain possible, authorities said.

Booking photos of the pair were not immediately available.
