Summer Library Performance Series Kicks Off With Storyteller Bernadette Nason

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Abilene will be kicking off it's Summer Library Performance Series with a special storyteller on June 13.

The Abilene Public Library and Young Audiences will be celebrating 21 years of the Summer Library Performance Series this year, and to start the series Bernadette Nason will be presenting her Tales from Merry England.

Bernadette Nason is a multiple award-winning storyteller, writer and actress who hails from England, lives in Austin and has performed all over the world.  She has appeared in feature films such as Miss Congeniality and Land of Leopold.

The Summer Library Performance Series will feature four different groups, beginning with Bernadette Nason on Tuesday, June 13.  Le Theatre de Marionette will perform on Tuesday, June 27.  Singer/songwriter Joe McDermott will be on Tuesday, July 11, and the Hampstead Stage Company will be on Tuesday, July 25.

Each date will have two show times, 10:45 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the downtown library's upstairs auditorium. There is no admission charge and no need for reservations. While the shows are meant for children ages 4-14, people of all ages will find something to enjoy.
