Suspect arrested for north Abilene stabbing identified

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - The suspect arrested after a stabbing in north Abilene Sunday afternoon has been identified. 

Jonas Gutierrez, 42, was taken into custody at the scene of the stabbing at a 7-Eleven convenience store at the corner of N. 1st Street and Burger Street. He's currently being held in the Taylor County Jail on a $15,000 bond for an Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon charge issued in connection to the incident.

Police at the scene of the stabbing told KTAB and KRBC Gutierrez fled on foot then got into a truck before he was apprehended at the intersection of N. 5th Street and Forrest Street. 

The extent of the injuries sustained by the stabbing victim is unknown at this time. No additional information has been released.
