Suspect arrested for weekend murder of Abilene teen

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A suspect accused of shooting and killing an Abilene teen over the weekend has been arrested.

Abilene police confirm D'Jaman Keshod West, 19, has been taken into custody on a Murder warrant issued in connection to the death of Bronson Boyles, 19, who was shot Friday just before midnight and passed away early Saturday morning after being transported to the hospital in a private vehicle.

Court documents state witnesses saw West get into an altercation with Boyles at an apartment complex on the 1000 block of South Clack Street.

These witnesses told police that sometime during the confrontation, they heard a gunshot, and when they looked up, they saw West holding a gun over Boyles, according to the documents.

The documents also state a GPS device issued to West as part of a recent probation order confirmed West was in the area of the apartment complex at the time Boyles was shot and killed.

The men then got into an argument, according to witness testimony to police, and a single gunshot was heard.

West fled the scene and was at large for nearly four days before he was taken into custody.

BigCountryHomepage will release more information about this murder as it is released.
