Suspected sex traffickers from Houston arrested at Cielo Vista Mall in El Paso

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - Additional details have emerged in the apprehension of two suspected sex traffickers who were arrested Saturday afternoon at Cielo Vista Mall in east El Paso.

According to court documents, Mikhail King, 27, and Keinangela Evans, 18, are each charged with Trafficking Person to Engage in Conduct/Sexual.

The incident unfolded Saturday when the alleged victim, a 23-year-old-woman, called 911 several times from inside Cielo Vista Mall. Unfortunately, due to poor cell service in the mall, her calls kept getting disconnected. Eventually, 911 operators were able to find the victim's location by communicating with her over text message.

Texas DPS Troopers were sent in to arrest King and Evans, who the victim alleged kidnapped her from Houston and brought her to El Paso.

The woman said she'd been hanging out with the two in southeast Houston on  Friday and was high on marijuana when she went to take a nap. Next thing she knew, she woke up in Junction, Texas - about 664 miles from Houston off of I-10.

The victim says she made several demands that King and Evans take her back to Houston, but they allegedly laughed and ignored her. When she told King that he'd kidnapped her, his response was "No I'm not, you got in the car, and now you're part of the team."

As part of their investigation, DPS investigators learned that an ad had been placed on titled "Sensual limber Ebony babe -20." The woman in the ad was identified as looking like the victim and having her Houston-area cell phone number.

Investigators determined that the victim was not in El Paso on her own free will and had, in fact, been kidnapped with the intent to traffic her for sex purposes.

King and Evans were each booked into the El Paso County Detention Center where their bonds were set at $100,000 each.
