Taylor County Extension Office offering food safety management training class

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Food service establishments will be able to receive food protection management training and certification through the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office next month.

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension office will be offering a two-day food protection management training class on August 21 and 22. The class will run from 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the Taylor County Extension Office on the grounds of the Taylor County Expo Center.

The training will allow food establishments and service managers in the Big County to meet certification requirements, provided they can pass the Prometric exam.

The class will cover 12 concepts of food safety, including personal hygiene, cross contamination, sanitation, pest management and more.

The cost for the course is $125, which covers the course book and exam. Deadline for registration is Monday, August 7. Registration information is available by calling the Taylor County Extension Office at 325-672-6048, or at http://taylor.agrilife.org.

The course is sponsored by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in Taylor, Jones and Haskell Counties.
