Texas 6-year-old accused of killing infant, mother indicted for murder

POTTER COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A Potter County grand jury has indicted Shynequa Pollard for the murder of an 8-month-old child.

The indictment claims Pollard left a 6-year-old child alone with four other children (a 3-year-old, 1-year-old, and two children under the age of 1) knowing the 6-year-old has a history of violence toward other children.

Officials say autopsy results show the baby died from intracranial hemorrhage because of a skull fracture and blunt force trauma to the head.

Amarillo Police arrested Pollard August 10 for the murder.

Amarillo Police first received information about the incident on the morning of July 1st after someone on the 1100 block of S. Carolina called about the unresponsive child. The baby died that afternoon.
