Suspect in Officer-Involved Shooting Has Died, According to Texas Rangers

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - The Texas Rangers have issued a statement on an officer-involved shooting in Abilene over the weekend.

In the statement, the Texas Rangers confirm that the suspect who was shot by a deputy after charging at deputies with a knife has passed away from injuries associated with the gunshot.

Authorities still have not yet released the identity of the suspect.

The incident occurred on June 10, when Taylor County Sheriff's deputies attempted to serve a warrant to an Abilene man. According to authorities, when deputies arrived at the home, the suspect threatened and charged at the deputies with a knife. One deputy then shot the suspect. He was taken to Hendrick Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.
