Texas Wildfires Kill 4, Burn Over 400,000 Acres

Four people have been killed as wildfires continue to consume hundreds of thousands of acres in the Texas Panhandle.

Several media reports say Cody Crockett and Sydney Wallace, a young couple in their early 20s, lost their lives while trying to save cattle in Gray County. Their friend, Sloan Everett, was killed as well.

A fourth person, Cade Koch, 25, was found deceased inside his vehicle during a separate fire in Lipscomb County, according to Amarillo Globe-News.

The largest fire, dubbed the Perryton Fire, has consumed over 300,000 and is only 50% contained, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.

Another fire, the Lefors East Fire, has burned nearly 100,000 in Gray County.
