The Abilene Public Library Will Hold Their Annual Book Sale This Weekend, June 15-18

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - The Friends of the Abilene Public Library are gearing up for their 28th annual book sale this weekend.

In a press release from the Abilene Public Library, the Friends of the Library announced they will be holding their annual book sale at the Civic Center from June 15 through June 18.

On Thursday, June 15, members of the Friends of the Abilene Public Library will be the first to get a crack at the sale with a preview day from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

On Friday, June 16, the doors will be open to the general public from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.

On Saturday, June 17, the sale will be going on from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

On Sunday, June 18, the famous "Bag-O-Books" sale will be from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.  During this day of the sale, $6 will buy you as many books as you can fit in a bag provided by the library.

Also featured this year will be the "Antiques and Uniques" section as well as the Corner Store.  The "Antiques and Uniques" section will feature rare, hard to find and collectible books.  The Corner Store will have new or almost new books at a fraction of their original cost.

The Friends of the Abilene Public Library Book Sale is an annual event celebrating 28 years.  The book sale will have over one hundred thousand books, video and cassette tapes, DVDs, CDs, records, and other unique items.

Most general sale items and hardback books will be $2, with paperbacks at only $1.  Memberships to the Friends of the Abilene Public Library will be available at the door for $15. The library will accept cash, check, credit/debit cards, Visa, Mastercard, Discover and Diner's Club.

Proceeds from the book sale help fund library materials, equipment, activities, and staff training opportunities.
