The pumpkin patch at DRI is coming back October 4

ABILENE, Texas (Press Release) - On October 3rd, at 5pm, a huge truckload of pumpkins will arrive at Disability Resources, Inc., and over 200 volunteers will unload thousands of pumpkins on the DRI grounds.  

Beginning Saturday, October 4, visitors can purchase large pumpkins, small pumpkins, mini pumpkins, pie pumpkins and gourds….pumpkins for everyone!  The pumpkin patch will be decorated with bales of hay, scarecrows, flowers and giant pumpkins.  

There will be several areas set up for taking pictures, including the addition of photo boards this year.  On weekdays, you can enjoy story time and an old-fashioned hayride around the DRI campus.    All activities are free of charge.  

Over 13,000 visitors and 70 school groups came to the patch last year, and over 71 TONS of pumpkins were sold!  The DRI Pumpkin Patch will run through the whole month of October, including weekends. Hours are Monday – Saturday 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and Sunday 1 p.m.-7 p.m.  

Funds raised from the patch will be used to continue DRI’s ministry of providing residential care, vocational training and recreational activities to individuals with developmental disabilities.   Come visit the DRI Pumpkin Patch at 3602 N.
