Two arrested after meth, marijuana deal in north Abilene

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Two men were arrested on drug charges after a suspected methamphetamine and marijuana deal in north Abilene Wednesday.

Aaron McVea has been charged with Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possesion of Marijuana. Demarques Taylor has been charged with Possession of Marijuana.

A press release from the Abilene Police Department states detectives witnessed a possible drug transaction at a north Abilene apartment complex, so a patrol unit initiated a traffic stop soon after.

During the stop, officers found 37 grams of meth and 14 grams of marijuana in McVea's possession, and a smaller amount of marijuana in Taylor's possession, according to the press release. 

Taylor was released from jail after posting bond, and McVea remains behind bars on bonds totaling over $25,000.
