TxDOT's Abilene District sending additional crew members for Harvey relief efforts

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – According to a press release from the Texas Department of Transportation, the Abilene District will be sending additional crew members down to aid in the Harvey relief efforts.

The release reads:

Eleven additional crew members from the Abilene District have been dispatched to help with response to Hurricane Harvey.

Crew members from Scurry, Callahan, Haskell, Mitchell, Shackelford, Taylor, and Jones Counties, along with two employees from the sign shop left this afternoon for the staging facility in Bryan, carrying with them front end loaders, dump trucks, brooms, and other equipment necessary to help with cleanup and repairs in the aftermath of the storm. The crew will be dispatched to Sugar Land, just southwest of Houston, Friday morning to begin work.

Another crew is preparing to deploy Friday morning to relieve the first crew of TxDOT responders that mobilized last Friday.
