Vegetable oil spill stalls traffic on S 14th Street in Abilene

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Traffic is stalled on S 14th Street in Abilene as crews work to clean up a vegetable oil spill.

Police at the scene told KTAB and KRBC a vat of vegetable oil tipped over in the back of a truck the driver turned onto S 14th Street from Willis Street just after 12:30 p.m.

The driver kept going, causing oil to spill down S 14th Street from Willis Street to all the way in front of Alfredo's restaurant past Barrow Street.

Clean up crews have traffic closed in one lane as they apply sand to the spill.

It's unclear how long the cleaning process will take.
