Victim in Brownwood Shooting Has Been Identified

BROWNWOOD, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - The victim of a Brownwood shooting Saturday afternoon has been identified, according to a press release from the Brownwood Police Department.

Larry Irvin, a 29-year-old Brownwood man, was the victim of a shooting Saturday afternoon in the 300 block of N. Greenleaf Street. Irvin was initially flown to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene and was later transferred to a Fort Worth area hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The press release continues, saying that the suspect, 25-year-old Preston Dilon Browne, was arrested shortly after the shooting on charges of Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence and Illegal Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, both being third degree felonies. He has also been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a second degree felony.

Preston Dilon Browne is being held at the Brown County Jail on a $600,000 bond.
